3 Ways to Add Haldi Into Your Beauty Routine

Haldi has been a part of our traditions for centuries and it’s time to embrace it in our beauty routine as well.

Haldi aka turmeric is an anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant herb. This yellow herb can be used in our day-to-day life, from drinks, food, and even skincare! Below are three ways you can add turmeric into your beauty routine.

1. Turmeric body scrub

For this DIY recipe, you need sugar, jojoba oil (or any other non-comedogenic oil), and wild turmeric. Wild turmeric is best for all the DIYs as it is really effective and won’t stain your skin. Simply, blend some sugar into a fine, sand-like texture. Then, add equal parts turmeric and some oil to make a thick paste. Apply on wet skin in the shower to get rid of dead skin cells and polish the skin.

 

2. Turmeric toothpaste

Want to improve your smile and gum health? This DIY is just for you. Take about 2 teaspoons of coconut oil and add some turmeric to it. Mix to form a thick paste. Brush your teeth with this paste and leave it on for one minute. Then follow up with your regular toothpaste.

 

3. Turmeric ubtan

This age-old remedy naturally exfoliates and brightens the skin. You need chickpea flour (or besan), rice flour, turmeric, and water (or yogurt). Make a paste and apply it to damp skin for 15 minutes. Then rinse it off and follow up with a moisturiser.
