Lipstick is that one product that can instantly transform your face from “blah” to “bam”!
If you find that your lipstick wears off after a couple of hours, you’re not alone. Everyone’s lips are different and some products just don’t work well with certain skin types. But there are some ways to make your lip colour last longer. Here are our top five tips for keeping your lipstick fresh all day long.
1. Exfoliate
Dry, flaky lips are not only uncomfortable, but they will make your lip colour fade and look uneven. For the smoothest application possible, exfoliate your lips first with a gentle lip scrub or use a damp washcloth to rub off any dry skin.
2. Moisturize
Applying lip balm before applying lipstick is an important step. The lip balm will hydrate and moisturize your lips and make them look smoother, so the colour looks more even after application. It will also prevent the lipstick from cracking and fading throughout the day if your lips get dry.
3. Line
Use a lip liner to keep things in place. Applying a lip liner before you apply your color can help prevent the color from bleeding over the edges of your lips or settling into the fine lines on your lips.
4. Set
After applying your lipstick, blot with a tissue, then apply another coat of lipstick to make your color last all day.
5. Gloss
If your lipstick still starts to fade during the day, use lip gloss to freshen the look and add shine.
