We all go through bad hair days, specially in winters. But let’s end our hair troubles for once and for all. Let’s figure out how to control frizzy hair with a proper technique.

What is frizzy hair and what causes it?

Frizzy hair refers to hair strands that stick out or curl up in different directions, causing uneven and irregular textures that don’t align with the main body of the hair. Frizziness is caused by dry hair that lacks moisture and four factors that contribute to it are the thickness of the hair, curl pattern, heat damage and environmental damage.

Tips to control frizziness?

Here a few tips that can tame reduce frizziness and promote shiny, healthy hair.

1. Use hydrating conditioners: Dry hair need hydration. So invest in a good, hydrating conditioner with glycerin to keep frizziness under control.

2. Don’t wash your hair everyday: We have said this before and we’ll say it again. Please, don’t wash your hair every single day. If you feel the need, go for a quick rinse and apply a hydrating conditioner at the tips to seal moisture.

3. Cut down on heat styling tools: Blow dryer, straightener, curling iron – many people use them at higher temperatures and that literally leave hair fried and frizzy. Use them occasionally and you’ll notice a huge difference in your hair.

4: Avoid colouring your hair: If you can, don’t colour your at all. During this process, the hair cuticle opens up to absorb the colour and it’s really hard to fix it later on.

5. Use a hair mask: Using a deep conditioning hair mask in the shower once a week will leave you with less frizzy and manageable hair.

6. Use smoothing oils and balms: Using smoothing oils and rich balms at the tips will save you from split ends, which means less frizz.
