Tips to Keep Your Skin Hydrated in Ramadan

You might notice a change in your skin during Ramadan. It can feel dry and look dehydrated. While you should make sure to stay hydrated by drinking lots of water and eating nutritious food, there are also some tips that can help your skin stay hydrated during this month.

1. Avoid long showers

Long showers can further dry out your skin. Cut down on your shower time and use warm water instead of cold or hot water. Also, avoid using any harsh soaps or cleansers.

 

2. Always moisturize your skin after cleansing

It’s best to apply a moisturizer immediately after showering or washing your face. This also applies to your body. Moisturizing will help lock in moisture and prevent dryness later on. Look for products that have hyaluronic acid or glycolic acid to gently exfoliate as well.

 

3. Avoid touching your face

It can be tempting to pick at your pores or squeeze those annoying pimples that pop up during Ramadan, but don’t do it! Touching your face can in fact lead to more breakouts because you’re inviting unwanted bacteria to your face.
